Sunrise over a frozen plateau

This past Winter has been a momentous time for the Windward Community and Herland Forest. Many a long cold winter night was spent reviewing and sorting the documents for the cemetery’s license application.

With the endowment care fund filled, and the paperwork and contracts sorted out, we made our formal application to the Washington state Funeral and Cemetery Board in March. We’re excited to be moving into the next phase of development of this conservation project.
